midterm thoughts

While doing the midterm I was also constantly looking to the right list for terms that weren't there. It maybe would have been better if more terms were included as opposed to less. I didn't have too bad a time though, overall. It was sort of demanding to figure out how the terms correlated, and how to choose to define them.

I also had the same thoughts about the list of 5 terms we were supposed to choose. Some were so intertwined and closely involved with the explanation of each, like, History and Time or Message and Content. But I chose my five based on this hangup and define history in/through time and message as opposed to content.

The things I learned from the midterm were related to our studies and how I thought I fit into the picture of theory and the future of our society and lifestyles under the influence of new media technologies. I found myself interested, as well, in the role of the new media artist. I will be dealing with this concept the rest of my life graduating as a Film/Video production major, especially if I am making films. Theory has driven some avenues of film making, as we saw in Waking Life.
