Metalogue a Midterm

As an overall midterm I think I can say that I somewhat enjoyed the way the whole exam was organized. When dealing with such subjective thoughts and ideas it is hard to test true answers but this seemed to work pretty well. Like everybody else, all the terms presented on the test seemed to overlap or not fit into any of the subjects at all, so I found it hard to pick the "best" responses for each answer. I tried to pick subjects that dealt with ideas that were as distantly related as possible so my answers didn't overlap.

I really enjoyed the essay becasue the whole metalogue idea is pretty fascinating to me. I actually focused my essay on the "medium is the message" idea and then related that to a metalogue. Since a metalogue is essentially a way of expression that reinforces the idea you are trying to get across, I simple said that because I was actually writing an essay, the words on the paper, the medium, actually became the message. So in a sense by writing an essay about "the medium is the message" I was actually practicing a metalogue technique. I know this was probably an easy way out but I felt that it helped me better understand both concepts.
