I just thought that for this blog I would comment on some of the discussions we had in class on Thursday because I don’t remember any specific guidelines. I found the discussion to be one of our more interesting ones of the year. I enjoyed when we looked through some of the artifacts that people had posted on the blog and discussing how they tied into our readings. I have to admit now, I am kind of freaked out about the VeriChip. I was shocked to hear that so many corporations actually make their employees get the chip implanted. Surprisingly, I could not find the exact number of companies that used the VeriChip from the internet. I think that using technology and implants such as artificial limbs and so forth are a great thing and help move people forward. This VeriChip, however, just seems like a complete invasion of privacy of any kind. Unless there is a life threatening reason to have one installed in myself, I hope I never get the VeriChip. Unfortunately, I can envision a future where the entire population will require the chip.
